No debit cards accepted for refundable deposits - only credit cards, master, visa, diners, amex, bank guaranteed cheques and cash. We cannot refund back onto a debit card unless its on the same day or do a manual transaction on a debit card, according to bank rules (Nedbank). Debit cards only accepted for the hire portion. Bank guaranteed holding cheques, cash or manual credit card vouchers can be used for the deposits.
How the manual deposit works with a credit card
We do the credit card deposit on a manual voucher which we keep in an envelope until such time as you return the costumes and sign them back in. This is much the same as a holding cheque. It does NOT get banked unless you don’t return the costumes or damage the costumes! I repeat, it DOES NOT GET BANKED unless you don’t return the costumes or damage the costumes.
On returning the costumes we will give you back the MANUAL credit card voucher in duplicate which is then null and void, and you can tear it up the same as tearing up a holding cheque. That is why we write 'deposit only' on the manual credit card voucher.
To reiterate, the manual credit card voucher is like a holding cheque. When we give it back to you on returning your costumes, you can destroy it as it has served its purpose as surety as you have returned the costumes.
